All about the Himachal Grand Explorer – Complete Himachal Backpacking Tour.

If you are looking for a journey that truly covers the soul of Himachal Pradesh, the Himachal Grand Explorer is designed for you. This 11 nights 12 days Himachal tour is a thoughtfully curated Himachal Explorer Edition backpacking trip that connects culture, mountains, adventure, spirituality, and offbeat villages into one seamless Himalayan journey.

Unlike short holidays, this Himachal backpacking tour package allows travellers to slow down and experience the diversity of the region – from the sacred lanes of Amritsar and the colonial charm of Dalhousie to the Tibetan culture of Dharamshala, adventure vibes of Bir, forested trails of Jibhi, alpine landscapes of Manali, and the classic hill-station appeal of Shimla.

Designed as a Delhi to Himachal backpacking tour, this itinerary is ideal for travellers who want a complete backpacking trip in Himachal Pradesh without rushing. The journey flows naturally from lower altitudes to higher mountain regions, ensuring comfort, acclimatisation, and deeper exploration.

Adventure lovers will enjoy experiences like Bir Billing paragliding, Jibhi waterfall & Jalori Pass trek, Serolsar Lake trek backpacking, and river rafting in Himachal (optional). Culture seekers will appreciate monasteries, temples, tea gardens, and heritage towns, while backpackers will love village walks, cafés, and community travel vibes.

Whether you are planning a long Himalayan escape, a Himachal Christmas & New Year trip, or a once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan group backpacking tour, the Himachal Grand Explorer stands out as one of the best tours to cover all major areas of Himachal in a single journey.

The Himachal Grand Explorer is more than just an itinerary – it is a complete Himalayan experience. Starting from Delhi, this extended backpacking route introduces you to Himachal gradually, blending iconic destinations with offbeat experiences.

The journey begins in Amritsar, adding a rich cultural and historical dimension before entering Himachal. As you move through Dalhousie and Khajjiar, the landscapes transition into pine forests and colonial hill towns. In Dharamshala and McLeodganj, Tibetan culture, monasteries, cafés, and spiritual landmarks create a unique Himalayan atmosphere, forming an essential part of the McLeodganj to Manali backpacking tour corridor.

From Dharamshala, the route leads to Bir, home to the world-famous Bir Billing paragliding tour and peaceful monasteries. The experience deepens as you head to Jibhi, one of Himachal’s most scenic forest regions, featuring Jibhi waterfall, Jalori Pass trek, and the serene Serolsar Lake trek – a highlight for backpackers and nature lovers.

Adventure continues in Manali, where travellers enjoy Manali sightseeing backpacking, Solang Valley excursions, Atal Tunnel drives, and optional river rafting in Kullu – making it one of the most dynamic sections of the tour.

The final leg in Shimla, Kufri, and Mashobra offers colonial charm, scenic viewpoints, and relaxed exploration before returning to Delhi. This combination of destinations, activities, and pacing makes the Himachal Grand Explorer one of the most complete backpacking trips in Himachal Pradesh, suitable for long-stay travellers, first-timers, and repeat visitors alike.
